The Worshipping House of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan
The worshipping house of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan is located at Van Noi village, Hong Tien commune, Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province. It was built from 2003 to 2005 on the ground of Hoang family. The house is divided into 5 simple rooms following the traditional structure of the Northern Delta. Besides, there are some other works around the worshipping house such as guest house, the system of ground and garden, trees, half-moon lotus pond, flagstaff and so on. These works make the worshipping house more beautiful and solemn.
Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan was born in 1868 and died in 1901. She got married with Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac and they had 4 children, namely Nguyen Thi Thanh, Nguyen Sinh Khiem, Nguyen Sinh Cung and Nguyen Sinh Xin. Especially, Nguyen Sinh Cung is the real name of President Ho Chi Minh. After marriage, she worked hard to take care of his husband who studied for examinations and her children. After Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan passed away, she was buried in Sen village, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. This is the hometown of her husband.
Beside the house is the stele house dated to 1702. It shows the merits of Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Khuong – the daughter of Hoang family. She together with her husband had merits to fight the enemies to bring peace for her hometown. She also donated her property to buy land for local inhabitants.
Currently, the worshipping house is the place to preserve many documents and objects to record great merits of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan as well as her influences on the career of President Ho Chi Minh, for example, the family genealogy records of Hoang family, the portraits of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, images of country leaders who used to visit the worshipping house, descendants of Hoang family at Hoang Tru village, Nghe An province visiting Hoang family at Van Noi village.
Especially, there is a weaving loom followed the prototype of the weaving loom in Nghe An inside the house. This is the object attached with the whole life of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan. Thanks to it, she helped her husband pass the exam. Her moral teachings became sweet streams to nourish souls of our great President Ho Chi Minh.
The display area of the worshipping house shows images and objects when President Ho Chi Minh visited Hung Yen. He used to visit Hung Yen 10 times. He spent special feelings for Hung Yen hometown. So, Hung Yen city has river named after him.
Every year, the festival is held on December 22nd to commemorate Mrs. Loan. Together with the system of memorial houses, the worshipping house of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan is a cultural place to train the tradition of “Drinking water, remembering its source” of our country.
