  •     Vu Trong Phung (1912-1939) was born in Hao village, Lieu Xa commune, Yen My district, Hung Yen province. His father worked as a lathe worked and died of tuberculosis when Vu Trong Phung was only seven months old. His mother was a poor woman; she loved her children so much and she raised her children by sewing.

  •     Nguyen Cong Tieu was born in 1892 and died in 1976 in Tra Bo village, Phan Sao Nam commune, Phu Cu district. hung Yen province. When he was small, he learnt Chinese characters. When he grew up, he studied the national language. With the reality of production in his countryside, he thought about why the piece of land in the field could make flower better than the rice field without strawberry. He called himself Minh Nong, which meant a cock waking up people for work in the early morning.

  •     Duong Quang Ham was born on July 14th 1898 in Phu Thi village, Me So commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province. He died in 1946. He had another name called Hai Luong. He was born and grew up in a family of Confucian traditions. His paternal grandfather was Duong Duy Thanh (1804-1861), a provincial education officer in Hanoi. His father was Duong Trong Pho; his eldest brother was Duong Ba Trac, one of the founders of Dong Kinh nghia thuc (the first school founded by a group of Vietnamese revolutionaries in Hanoi). His younger brother was Duong Tu Quan, also a famous scholar of his time.

  •     Chu Manh Trinh was born in 1862 in a Confucian family. Chu Duy Tinh, his father, was a court counselor. Chu Manh Trinh was very smart in study. He won a high-school diploma at the age of 19. At the age of 25, he won the position of the first laureate at an interprovincial exam. He also won the first position in the royal court competition at the age of 31.   •     Nguyễn Bình, born in 1908, whose real name is Nguyen Phuong Thao is from Yên Phu hamlet, Tinh Tien commune (now is Giai Phạm commune, Yên Mỹ district, Hưng Yên province). He was the first Lieutenant-general of the Vietnam People’s Army. As a young man, he was a slave until he resigned that role and went to Hai Phong to work as a sailor on a ocean-going ship running the Vietnam-France route.

His father is Le Huu Muu, his mother is Bui Thi Thuong, and his cousins were excellent people who were important mandarins under the reign of Le – Trinh dynasty.
